TIES is a program that provides individualized academic support and enrichment not currently available during the regular school day. It includes student-driven projects and project-based learning.
21st CCLC MISSION STATEMENT:
21st CCLC programs provide safe and engaging learning environments for students in out-of-school-time hours. They offer academic enrichment activities, such as tutoring in reading and math, and services that enhance the regular academic program, such as recreation, technology education, counseling, and character education. Grantees partner with community groups and schools to support students who attend high-poverty, low performing schools, through more than 3,300 active grants that fund over 8,900 centers and serve 1.5 million students in 53 states and territories.
OUR PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT: “The mission of the TIES After-School and Summer Programs is to utilize a community effort to assist students and their families in improving their self-esteem, improving academics and developing good character.These core concepts encompass the fundamental values of the primary partners’ mission statements”.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT STATEMENT:
To build a commiunity of caring and competent afterschool students who are nurtured, motivated, and engaged in 21st CCLC programs. "Moments of joy mark the real learning experiences of our lives. ACADEMIC GOAL STATEMENTt:
TIES will focus on tying family, school, and commujnity together to enable each student to identify career goals, the academic achievement and work attributes needed to attain their goals, and the type of post-secondary education needed for their career field. TIES will provide academic support, academic enrichment, and service learning experiences in an environment that will explore career options and develop resiliency and leadership skills.
: All students graduating from the Mount Carmel Area School District will posssss the learning skills needed to communicate effectively and be productive and responsible citizens. All students and staff will respect individuals and society and will possess the ability to adapt to diversity and change.
Students may TIE into as many sessions as they choose to enrich their educational experience.
